The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has denied allegations of match-fixing making the rounds in the country as the federation says the appointment of referees has always been done in a transparent manner.
Addressing a news conference in Abuja, the First Vice President of the Federation, Mr Seyi Akinwunmi, said that disciplinary measures have been taken against referees who performed below expectations in the Premier League, the Nigeria National League and the Nigeria Women League.
The General Secretary of the Federation, Mr Sanusi Mohammed, who also spoke at the gathering appealed to football-loving Nigerians to cooperate with the Federation by exposing corrupt persons in the nation’s football sector.
