The Governor of the State, Olusegun Mimiko, made the disclosure at the official launch of the State Residency Card in Akure, the State’s Capital on Thursday.

People from all walks of life converged on the multipurpose hall of the Ondo State Cultural Centre in Akure for the event.

The Residency Card was introduced in October 2009 during the first year of Governor Mimiko in office.

According to the Chairman of Ondo State Civic Data Centre, Tunde Yadeka, the card is a multi-application digital smart-card which would contain relevant data about the holder.

He said that the card could be used to access social services such as health and financial purposes.
