The Police in Yobe state, North east Nigeria have confirmed that the only woman on admission at the Potiskum General hospital from the suicide bomb attack on the Redeemed Christian Church of Jigawa area, located in suburb of Potiskum town, has died.

A statement by the Police Public Relations officer, ASP Toyin Gbadegesin, said the woman sustained serious injuries and died while receiving treatment at the Potiskum General Hospital, bringing the death toll to six.

Five worshippers had earlier died after a suicide bomber attacked the Redeem Christian Church of God in the early hours of Sunday during a church service.

Sunday’s attack is the second launched in Yobe State, since the commencement of the Holy month of Ramadan.

A suicide bomber had 10 days ago attacked and killed several people in a local market in Nannawaji Village of Gujba Local Government Area of the state.
