Rochas Okorochao APC Governor Forum on Kogi State electionState Governors under the All Progressives Congress say they are ready for the forth-coming governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa States.

Addressing reporters after a closed-door meeting, which held for over three hours, the chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, said that the party had been strengthened to claim the States from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Governor Okorocha also added that the governors were happy that peace had returned to the House of Representatives and were hoping that same would be extended to the Senate soon.

The meeting was attended by the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Oyegun.

The Governors of Edo, Kwara, Imo, Niger, Kebbi, Kaduna, Kano, Osun, Plateau, Sokoto, Zamfara, Benue and Borno States were at the meeting.

Lagos and Oyo States were represented by their deputy governors.

On July 27, the Governor of Kogi State, Idris Wada, got the endorsement of youths of the PDP in Kogi State  to contest for a second term in office.

Leading the PDP youths from the 21 Local Government Areas to the Government House in Lokoja, the Kogi State’s capital, north-central Nigeria, the Leader of the youths, Engineer Steve Onoji, said they supported Governor Wada because of his human development stride.

The Governor is also confident of winning the election, as he said that the repositioning and re-organisation of the PDP in the state, had empowered the PDP to win the forthcoming governorship election.

Wada made the statement in an interview with Channels Television in Lokoja, during the State Congress election on July 24.
