Air Force Seeks Continued Support From United States

Air ForceThe Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, says his administration has commenced an assessment of strategies and trainings adopted so far by his men in the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency in the north east.

The Air Force Chief stated this when he paid a visit to the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai on Saturday.

He explained that the increasing violent attacks by the Boko Haram terrorists in the north-east and oil bunkering by militants in the Niger Delta region, requires an immediate review of the current tactics and curriculum used by the Nigerian Air Force in order to deal with the security challenges.

Air Vice Marshal Abubakar said that he was in Kaduna to assess the status of the service’s operational equipments, evaluate their mode of operations and also review the curriculum used by his personnel to ascertain if they were in line with the current situation.

While commending the gallant effort of his men in the fight against the insurgents, the Air Force boss expressed hope that the terrorists would soon be defeated and also vowed to strengthen his men and provide support and direction for them to achieve greater success.

Earlier, Governor El-Rufai commended the Nigeria Air Force for its contribution to the fight against insecurity in the state and the country in general.

He expressed hope that the military operation at the deadly Kamuku forest located in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the state would be a huge success.

He gave an assurance of Kaduna State’s support to the Nigerian Air Force towards ensuring a peaceful and secured society.
