Nigeria’s Under-23 team on Sunday qualified for the CAF U-23 championship that will hold in Senegal later in the year.
The ‘Dream Team Six’ will be joining eight other national teams at the championship after holding Congo-Brazzaville to a goalless draw in Pointe-Noire.
Coach Samson Siasia’s wards won the first leg 2-1 and the aggregate victory means Nigeria can continue its quest for a seventh appearance at the men’s football tournament of the Olympics.
Nigeria joins host Senegal, Algeria, Zambia, Egypt, South Africa and Tunisia in the finals to be staged from November 28 to December 11, and the top three teams will fly Africa’s flag at the Olympics in Rio De Janeiro in 2016.
