For sustainable safe motherhood, the wife of the Abia State Governor, Nkechi Ikpeazu, has distributed nutritional package food supplement to pregnant and nursing mothers at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, and Abia State Diagnostics Centre, Amachara annex.
This is an initiative of the wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari, for an improved and qualitative health care to encourage pregnant women and also exclusive breastfeeding.
While distributing the packaged food supplement and other items to the pregnant women, Mrs. Ikpeazu urged the women to use it judiciously and obey other health advice by the medical personnel for adequate growth of their babies and safe delivery.
The visits was an opportunity to present gifts to some patients and payments of hospital bills of several others who could not afford the fees for one reason or the other.
Appreciating the gesture, some of the beneficiaries said this would leave an indelible mark as they continued to render prayers, thanking the government for the assistance.
