Kaduna Govt Donates Patrol Vans To Police, OthersThe Kaduna State government has donated 107 Hilux patrol vehicles and 230 bullet proof vests to the Police and other security agencies.

The government’s gesture is in line with efforts to stamp out crime in Kaduna State in north-west Nigeria.

Commissioning the vehicles at the Kaduna State Government House, the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, reiterated the determination of the Police to stamp out crime in the state and other parts of the country.

Mr Arase commended the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, for the donation, while giving assurances that the command would live up to expectation by doubling its efforts to reduce crime in the state.

In his speech, Governor El-Rufai said that his administration’s partnership with security agencies in the state has brought about crime reduction in the state, especially the flushing out of cattle rustlers from the deadly Kamuku forest in Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area that shares boundaries with neighbouring states.

The Governor also appealed to the Police boss to boost the Kaduna State Police Command with additional 7,000 policemen, in addition to current figure of 13,000 which he said represented only 5% of the country’s police population.

The 107 patrol vehicles would be distributed to nine security agencies in the state with the Police getting the highest number of 55 vehicles and the Army allocated 10.

It is expected that this gesture from the Kaduna State Government would go a long way in boosting the war against all forms of crime in the state.
