AIG Meets Traditional Rulers On Rivers Security

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 6, AIG Baba Bolanta, has met with various traditional rulers in Rivers State on how to manage the security situation in the state.

Speaking at the gathering in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital in south-south Nigeria, Mr Bolanta said that he believes traditional rulers are important partners in the fight against crime and criminality.

He said that the security situation in the oil producing state would be better controlled if traditional rulers and community leaders collaborate with the police.

The AIG, who also met with the officers and men of the Rivers State Police Command, charged them to step up operations to checkmate the spate of crime in the state.

The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Musa Kimo, assured the AIG that his men would keep up the fight against crime in spite of their challenges.

He also urged his men to be ahead of those they consider to be enemies of the people.
