Okorocha Urges Igbos To Join APC, Targets One million

OkorochaThe Imo State Government has commenced the remodeling and rebuilding of some old secondary schools across the state for the purpose of creating a conducive teaching and learning environment.

The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, while inspecting some of the ongoing remodeling projects in the schools, said that his administration was not just giving free education but also quality and qualitative education to students in the state.

He said that the move was part of his administration’s love and commitment to the development of education in the state.

The Governor also disclosed that due to the changes and growth recorded in education in the state and the commitment of resources to the sector, the performances of Imo students in internal and external examinations have improved by over 100%.

Some of the students commended the state government for the initiative of renovating their schools and classes, as it would go a long way to improve the teaching and learning process as well as boost their drive to study more.

Some of the schools being renovated within Owerri metropolis include; Akwakuma Girls Secondary School, Emmanuel College Owerri, Ikenegbu Girls, Government College Owerri, amongst others.

Citizens have expressed hope that the state government and subsequent governments would maintain this status so as to contribute immensely to educational development in the country.
