ITFAt the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) headquarters in Jos, Plateau State, it has not been a cordial relationship between the management of the fund and the workers’ union that has embarked on a 3-day warning strike to press home their demands.

As early as 7 o’clock in the morning, aggrieved workers of the Industrial Training Fund, in Jos, north central, Nigeria barricaded the entrance to the fund headquarters to press home their demands. But they were denied access into the complex.

They were protesting against the delay in the payment of their salaries, non-remittance of pension funds to the appropriate accounts as well as some corrupt practices by the management.

The management, in a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Ifeoma Iheuzue, however, described the allegations as calculated strategies to disrupt what the current leadership of the fund is doing.

They said that it was frivolous and baseless, citing the Treasury Single Account as a major factor in the delay of the payment of salaries while other funds have been paid into the necessary accounts.
