GandujeKano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, says his administration remains committed to ensuring the security of lives and property of the people of the state, irrespective of tribal or ethnic differences.

Speaking at a 1-day inter-religious and community conference, the Governor expressed worry over the recent Boko Haram attacks in mostly the northern states of the country.

According to Governor Ganduje, elites in Nigeria have contributed significantly in promoting violence and conflict, and this, he said, will no longer be tolerated.

The 1-day conference was to discuss various security issues ahead of Christmas and New Year celebrations and geared towards strengthening community relations for harmony, peace and sustainable development in Kano State.

It was attended by top religious, traditional and community leaders in Kano, who highlighted issues concerning peace and conflict prevention and resolution in Nigeria’s second largest city.

They assured the Government that they would continue to mobilize their people in ensuring a peaceful coexistence in the state for sustainable development.

The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, was one of the traditional leaders at the conference.

He condemned the act of violence and urged Nigerians to respect one another’s religion, places of worship and businesses despite the religious or tribal differences.

The Emir expressed confidence that Nigeria will continue to remain united.
