DeltaThe Delta State Government has received bids from 14 companies to develop the Asaba International Airport.

Some indigenous and international organisations made the proposals for the role of transaction adviser for the international airport in Delta State’s capital, after the government had put out an advert for the position some weeks ago.

According to the Senior Policy Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Professor Sylvester Monye, the submission exercise by the companies had been made as transparent as possible for an effective selection process of the winner.

The Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor, Orogun George, also said that the winner of the bid would be required to provide professional transaction advisory services to the state government and perform the duties normally expected of such firms.

These responsibilities include: the completion of project preparation, structuring, designing and managing the procurement, review of enabling legal and regulatory framework, preparation of definitive concession agreements among others.
