The Nigerian Senate on Monday joined the government and people of Benue State to mourn the death of the Tor-Tiv and Chairman of the Benue State Council of Chiefs, His Royal Majesty, Chief Alfred Akawe Torkula.
Senator Bala Ibin’Nallah conveyed the condolence message of the Senate to Governor Samuel Ortom in Makurdi on Monday.
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, joined the rest of Nigerians to honour the Tor-Tiv for his contributions to peace and development.
Governor Ortom in his response, thanked the Senators for considering the Tor-Tiv worthy of recognition and honour for his many years of labour and contributions to the growth of Nigeria.
