NDLEA Arrests 123 Suspected Drug Traffickers In Bayelsa

ndleaThe National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has warned dealers on illicit drugs in Anambra State to desist or face the consequences of their actions.

The Anambra State Commander of the NDLEA, Mr Sule Momodu, gave the warning on Monday.

He said that a thorough clamp down had been declared on drug dealers.

“Whoever is arrested would be made to face the full wrath of the law,” he emphasised.

The men of the command had carried out a raid operation at the Aba park in Onitsha, where several arrests were made and bags of heroin and other dangerous substances were also seized.

In a similar raid in one of the students’ hostel in Awka, startling seizures of bags of cannabis were made and according to the commander, students found culpable of the crime would have their academic activities terminated with prosecution following subsequently.

The Aba park in Onitsha was thrown into pandemonium, as men of the NDLEA stormed the area on a raid operation on dealers of illicit drugs and other dangerous substances.

Some of the suspected culprits tried to escape but were arrested and handcuffed to face the law.

In their numbers, they were arrested and their contraband goods seized.

The commander assured the state residents of continuous battle against drug dealers until the state became sanitised.

Those arrested were remanded in NDLEA custody in Onitsha while processing of exhibits and other papers would commence for their prosecution and conviction.
