The National Youth Council of Nigeria have protested the continued detention of its President, Mr Ikenga Ugochinyere by the Department of State Services (DSS).
The acting Secretary of the council, Mr Bassey Henshaw, led a delegation of members of the council on Monday to Channels Television’s headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
He said that the council had made efforts to secure the release of its President through legal means, but the DSS has made it difficult for them.
The council appealed to the security agency to charge Mr Ugochinyere to court if he has breached any of the nation’s laws or release him unconditionally.
