In what is another probe into the power sector, the House of Representatives has mandated its Committees on Power and Public Procurement to investigate the alleged massive corrupt practices committed by Manitoba Hydro International Nigeria Limited.
The lawmakers made the resolve on Thursday after a representative of the Peoples Democratic Party from Nassarawa State, Honourable Gaza Jonathan, sponsored the motion at the Lower House of the National Assembly in Abuja.
The House alleged that the exchange rate being used by the management company since 2012 has been higher than the official and parallel market rates.
The legislators also noted that the management company had not met its key performance indicators under the management contract.
The House of Representatives directed the committees to report back in four weeks for further legislative works.
