Husband KillerThe trial of a female lawyer, Yewande Oyediran, who allegedly killed her husband, Lowo, was stalled again on Monday as she was not present in court due to ill health as claimed by her lawyer.

Presiding judge, Justice Muktar Abimbola, had last Thursday adjourned the trial till Monday, June 27 due to the request by the private prosecutor, Mr Sanya Akinyele, that the medical report conducted by a medical personnel on the deceased and the statement of the co-tenant with the defendant were missing in the evidence list.

The Defence Counsel, Mr Abioye Asanike, informed Justice Abimbola that Mrs Oyediran had not been feeling fine in the last two weeks, stressing that she managed to appear in the court the previous Thursday.

Responding, counsel to the family of the deceased, Mr Sanya Akinyele, said that he was not aware that the accused person was ill.

He added that the defense counsel ought to have brought such to his notice before Monday.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Muktar Abimbola, therefore adjourned the case till October 24, 2016.

The private prosecutor in the case, had filed an application before the court where he claimed that some vital document necessary for the trial were missing in the proof of evidence list he received from the Director of Public Prosecution in the state.
