The Adamawa State Government has commenced the renovation and reconstruction of secondary school structures in the state destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents.

The Deputy Governor, Mr Martins Babale, accompanied by other government officials went round to access the extent of damage and also inspect the renovation carried out at one of the schools.

The Principal of GSS Gombi, Mr Idris Samari lamented the poor application by students to the school.

He revealed that the school, before insurgents’ attacks, had over 1000 students on their roll call but now records less than 400 as many have left because of the attacks.

“We pray the visit of the Government officials will fast up their plans to renovate the school.

“As you can see the school is in bad shape,” Idris said.

Mr Babale also inspected GSS Muchalla, where inspected renovated blocks of classrooms by the state government and a block of two classrooms is under construction by the Parents Teachers Association (PTA).

The Principal, James Garga (JP) thanked the government for fast reconstruction of the school.

“We really thank this Government, this in deed government for the people and is passionate to work for the people,” he said.
