Road Construction, Fayose, Construction WorkThe Ekiti State government has paid a compensation worth over four million naira to residents of Ise Ekiti and Emure Ekiti in Ekiti South senatorial district whose properties were affected by the ongoing construction of 1.5-kilometer dual carriage road in the two towns.

Governor of the state, Ayodele Fayose on his arrival in Ise Ekiti, first inspected the level of work done by the contractor handling the road project before distributing the cheques to the residents whose properties were affected by the construction.

Governor Fayose, while handing the cheques to the beneficiaries, said that despite the economic challenges, his administration would not rest on its oars in putting smiles on the faces of Ekiti citizenry.

The Governor also directed the Ministry of Works to immediately commence the rehabilitation of Ikere–Ise Ekiti road to complement the ongoing dual carriage way in Ikere.

Fayose, while speaking to newsmen said that his government remained committed to its electoral promise despite distractions from the opposition party.

Before departing the towns, the Governor extended his administration’s ‘stomach infrastructure’ programme to the residents by donating rice and a cash to them.

He assured them of better days ahead.

The people of Ise and Emure Ekiti expressed their gratitude to the government.

The traditional ruler of Ise Ekiti, Adetunji Ajayi, also promised to continue to give the government the necessary support to achieve more development.

The dual carriage road is to be completed by August, 2016.
