Nigeria’s U-23 team, on Saturday defeated Denmark 2-0, to qualify for the semi-final of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil.
Captain of the side, Mikel John Obi, opened scoring early in the first half, following a superb wing play from Imoh Ezekiel.
Mikel Obi’s corner kick was glanced in by Aminu Umar to give Nigeria a 2-goal lead in the second half.
Samson Siasia’s men will now take on Germany in the semi-final of the competition.
Germany qualified by beating European power house Portugal 4-0. All four goals were scored in the second half of the match between the two European giants.
