The workers comprising of both teaching and non-teaching staff arrived at the Assembly’s complex in Oshogbo ‎, the state capital with several placards insisting that they will not return to work until their request is granted.

The state chairman of the College of Education Academic Staff Union ‎ (COEASU), Jimoh Lasisi who led the protesters alleged that the chairman has trampled on the rights of the workers.

He explained that the decision taken by Mr Akande asking 72 workers disengaged in January is against the instruction given by the leadership of the Osun State House of Assembly that “status quo” be maintained for now.

Mr Lasisi described the decision as anti-development more so the resolution of the House on the disengagement is still before the governor for his final decision.

Receiving the protesting workers, Hon Timothy Owoeye, leader of the Osun State House of Assembly appreciated them for demonstrating high level of maturity by bringing their complaints to the house.

He promised their grievances will be looked into to ensure no one is victimised unlawfully.

The workers also stopped over at the party secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to let their complains known, they were received by the Secretary of the party Razak Salinsile.
