The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command, has paraded some suspected members of a notorious kidnapping and car snatching syndicate.
At a Media Briefing in Abuja, the FCT Police Commissioner, Mr Muhammad Mustafa, said that among the suspects, was also the leader of the gang.
The commissioner solicited the support and cooperation of members of the public, and warned residents against keeping cash in their homes, because according to him, “that can attract armed robbers”.
Explaining their mode of operation, the police chief cautioned residents to be more alert, as there has generally been an increase in reported cases of theft across the nation.
It was reported that over 40 of them had been arrested within the last one month for various offences ranging from car snatching to kidnapping and fraud.
He also confirmed the arrest of a consultant Gynecologist, who allegedly takes undue advantage of his female patients.
Some of the items recovered from the suspects include 13 motorcycles, six cars, nine wristwatches, six phones as well as armoured cables and other electronics.
