Abdulfatah Ahmed says Kwara has reduced cost of governance The Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed says his government has reduced cost of governance by 40 per cent to weather Nigeria’s economic situation affecting the state.

Governor Ahmed, however, assured  workers that his administration had resolved that no worker would be sacked.

The governor announced the cost of governance reduction while receiving the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, who paid him a yearly traditional Sallah homage at the Government House Ilorin.

He explained that it had become an avenue to showcase love and brotherliness in the state and warned residents to avoid being used by politicians to foment trouble in the state.

The government, he added was making effort to cushion the effect of the economic recession.

The Internally Generated Revenue, according to the Governor, had increased from 500 million Naira to 1.4 billion Naira monthly.


He also told the gathering at the Government House that 1.7 billion Naira would soon be released to various contractors for the completion of ongoing projects.

The Emir of Ilorin, had earlier urged Nigerians to embrace the farming policy of the Federal Government for the country to be self-sufficient in food production.
