The Governor of Adamawa State, Mr Mohammed Jibrilla, has presented a budget of 105.45 billion Naira for the 2017 fiscal year.
Presenting the proposal to lawmakers at the floor of the state’s House of Assembly, the Governor pointed out that education and health sectors were top priority of the budget.
The budget tagged ‘Budget of Consolidation’ is 15 billion Naira less than that of the year 2016.
Governor Jibrilla described the previous budget of 120 billion Naira performance as successful, adding that it recorded about 60% achievement.
He explained that the state government had considered the state of Nigeria’s economy in preparing the 2017 budget.
The governor, however, expresses optimism that the budget would go a long way.
He lauded the synergy between the executive and legislative arms of government in the state, describing it as excellent.
