The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) says it is adopting the whistle-blowing policy of the government to curb human trafficking.

Speaking at a media briefing in Abuja; the Director General of the agency; Missus Julie Okah Donli says whistle blowers will get 5% of the proceeds realized from arrested human trafficking syndicate.

In her words she said, “You don’t whistle-blow for nothing, but when we put everything in place there is definitely going to be a reward for every whistle-blower”.

She further stated that human trafficking goes beyond poverty but instead moral decadence, adding that education and awareness is key.

The NAPTIP boss also says the agency has started a weekly sensitization campaign all over the country, as part of efforts in tackling the illegal venture.
