Britain’s Prince William and Prince Harry awarded 20 young people with the Inaugural Legacy Award on Thursday (May 18) commemorating the legacy of their mother, Princess Diana.

The Diana Award is a charity set up in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, who died in a Paris car crash 20 years ago, and her belief that young people have the power to change the world for the better.

The Legacy Award winners, who come from the United Kingdom, U.S., Canada, India, Belize and United Arab Emirates, have all made a positive impact on their society.

“Harry and I feel that our mother lives on in the countless acts of compassion and bravery she inspires in others,” Prince William said during the ceremony at St James’s Palace in London.

Last month, William and Harry opened up about how the shock of losing their mother still lingered 20 years after her death.
