Apapa Port To Resume 24-Hour Operations
Nigeria’s acting President, Yemi Osinbajo has directed the resumption of 24-hour operations at the Apapa port in Lagos within 30 days.
Professor Osinbajo on Thursday signed three executive orders dealing with the business environment, local content in public procurement and timely budget submission.
In the executive order, the Federal Government banned touting by officials or unofficial persons at any port of entry; be it air, land and sea ports in Nigeria.
The details were made public on Friday, May 19.
Also, all valid ordinary tourist and business visa applications by foreigners trying to visit Nigeria are now to be processed within 48 hours.
The new order was issued to all ministries, departments and agencies as part of the overall initiative to ensure ease of doing business in the country, and the MDAs are mandated to harmonise all processing of applications.
The orders also stipulate that public officers who default in executing them are to face disciplinary proceedings.
