The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State has appealed the judgement of the Justice Ahmed Badamasi-led tribunal that upheld the victory of Godwin Obaseki in the Edo governorship election.

Chairman of the Party, Dan Orbih who disclosed this to Channels Television in Benin City said the party filed 41 grounds appeal on the judgement.

He said the party is convinced that it is acting in line with the wishes of the Edo people.

“Well, it is true that we have since filed our notice of appeal and yesterday they transmitted the records of the tribunal to the Court of Appeal and they have served all the parties.

“I think it’s a decision that a lot of people in Edo State were actually looking forward to. For them, nothing short of retrieving the mandate that was given to our candidate is acceptable to them. So we are going to explore all available legal avenues to ensure that we retrieve our mandate.”
