The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, says the whistle-blower policy of the Federal Government has been successful.
He said this when he visited Oyo State for the commissioning of the South-West Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The AGF said the success of the policy is a testament to “the fact that Nigerians are indeed ready and willing to partner with the government in the fight against corruption”.
“So, my advice to the people is to intensify efforts toward fighting corruption by way of collaborating with the Federal Government and taking it down to the lower strata of society – the states, the local governments and the wards to ensure that corruption is fought effectively and aggressively,” he added.
The minister warned politicians and government officials against laundering the nation’s resources.
He said the government made the war against corruption a total one because it was keen to make Nigeria conducive for investment, as it is very committed to turning the nation’s economy around.
