Returning Yobe IDPs Get Safety And Awareness Training The National Commission for Refugee has donated more building materials to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)  in Yobe state northeast Nigeria.

The supply of the materials came as IDPs are gradually relocating to their ancestral homes, as peace continues to prevail in the north east which had been under attack by the Boko Haram insurgents.

The building materials and other items were brought to the state by the Federal Commissioner Sadiya Umar-Farouk who said the building will be of immense help to the IDPs, who are relocating to their initial places of abode.

Items supplied according to her include; Zincs and roofing sheets, assorted woods, cement, wheel barrows, Diggers among others.

While pledging more assistance to the less privilege in the state and beyond, the federal commissioner called on the state committee for resettlement of the IDPs to ensure those in dare need are considered for the distribution.

Receiving the materials on behalf of the state Government, the State Commissioner of Education Mohammed Lamin, appreciated the gesture and assured that it will be justly distributed.

He said only when the IDPs are visited, the enormity of their sufferings cannot be ascertained.

The National Commission for Refugee had recently supplied agricultural implements to help boost agriculture among irrigation farmers in Gujba and Gulani Local Government Areas of the state, considering to be worse hit by the Boko Haram insurgency.
