A member of the House of Representatives, Garba Durbunde, has been abducted in Kaduna.
Mr Durbunde, who represents the Takai/Sumaila Federal Constituency of Kano State, was abducted on Tuesday evening while returning to Abuja from Kano.
The incident reportedly occurred on the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway, around Jere.
Although the Kaduna State Police Command has yet to confirm the incident, the Kano State Commissioner For Information and Culture, Mohammed Garba, confirmed the abduction of the federal lawmaker to our correspondent in Kaduna.
Mr Garba said no group or individual had claimed responsibility for the abduction of the lawmaker.
Durbunde was a former commissioner for rural development in the administration of former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.
