Nigerian farmers have been advised to focus more on the cultivation of a new specie of potato called orange-fleshed sweet potato.
The call is coming from the International Potato Centre which says the new specie has many advantages over the old.
According to the body, the orange fleshed sweet potato is rich in vitamin A and its inclusion in school meals for children will help improve malnutrition and could help Nigeria reduce its import of wheat.
