Senate Condemns Increasing Rate Of Dropped-callsThe Senate has condemned the increasing rate of dropped-calls and network congestion by GSM network operators in Nigeria.

The Upper Chamber made the disapproval on Tuesday following a motion sponsored by Senator Andy Uba on what he termed ”unwholesome practices by GSM network operators”.

Senator Uba said Nigerians have been experiencing a disturbing and yet increasing rate of dropped-calls and poor services from telecom operators in the country.

He noted that it was alarming that GSM operators in the telecommunication industry have not invested substantially in their networks to improve the quality of services rendered.

The lawmakers have directed the Nigerian Communications Commission to ensure strict monitoring of the activities of GSM operators in the country.
