The police say the six students kidnapped from the Government Model College, Igbonla in the Epe area of Lagos will soon regain their freedom.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, said this in a recent interview in Lagos.

He, however, declined to provide details about the rescue efforts, saying that the police will bring all involved in the kidnapping to justice.

He said, “On the Epe children, we are doing everything that we can to make sure they are rescued alive and unhurt, but I won’t be able to mention to you the stage that we are now because the safety of the children is paramount to us.”

Just last week, ransom worth N6m was paid for the release of the six students but they are still held captive by their abductors.

The students were kidnapped from the school on May 25 by gunmen who stormed their school during the morning assembly.
