Nigerian Army Donates Instructional Materials To Adamawa IDPsThe Nigerian Army has donated instructional materials to school children at the Malkohi Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Adamawa State.

The Malkohi IDPs camp in Yola South Local Government Area of the state is one of the three official camps out of nine initially established for victims of Boko Haram insurgency.

The facility now accommodates about 1500 IDPs out of which about 500 of them are enrolled in the primary and nursery school established by the military in the camp.

Out of the 18 teachers in the school, 10 are military instructors while the rest are from the Local Government Education Department and Volunteers.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, who is concerned with the educational development of school-age children in the camp, has been providing support for them to acquire the needed knowledge that will improve their lives.

The Army Chief was represented on Monday by the Brigade Commander of the 23 Armoured Brigade, Brigadier General Bello Mohammed who arrived at the camp in company of some Army officers and government officials.

Officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and their counterparts from Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency were on ground to receive them.

The Adamawa State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Ahmad Sajoh commended the role of the military in providing the opportunity for the education of the displaced children.
