Romelu Lukaku trained with Manchester United’s squad ahead of their U.S. tour which begins with a match against LA Galaxy on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters after practice, Coach Jose Mourinho noted that the striker’s addition to the team was important.

“I think it comes in the right moment of his career because he is still a young player but he has years of experience in the Premier League, also with the Belgium National team.

“He’s now in his first step into the Champions League competition which was also his main motivation,” Mourinho had said on Friday.

Lukaku finished runner-up for the league’s Golden Boot award last campaign with 25 goals and was tipped to return to champions Chelsea but chose to reunite with manager Jose Mourinho on a five-year contract.

Mourinho said the club still has work to do after signing Lukaku and Victor Lindelof, adding “we need more” and that “50 percent of the job was done”.
