The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, has approved the special promotion of 6,199 soldiers serving in Operation LAFIYA DOLE.

A statement issued Tuesday by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Usman, said the Army approved the promotion of troops to various ranks between Lance Corporals to Warrant Officers.

According to the statement, 329 Staff Sergeants are promoted to the rank of Warrant Officers; 371 Sergeants to Staff Sergeants; 707 Corporals to Sergeants; 1,290 Lance Corporals to Corporals, and 3,502 Privates to Lance Corporals.

General Buratai congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to increase the tempo of the ongoing clearance operations of the Boko Haram terrorists in North-East Nigeria.
