Emerging act, Jire Ajiboye is one of the many young singers working to break into the mainstream in Nigeria.

Since his debut at the age of 16, he has since been egged on by the success of stars like Davido and Wizkid, two international artistes who also started their career early, Jire is hopeful and excited about the possibilities available for him.

“It started from my tender age, since when I was 10 I have always liked to play the guitar and the keyboard but I wasn’t really interested in music till I got to my junior high school, I developed interest the first time I actually did my first song when I was in junior high school.

His love and determination to pursue music won his parents over. However, there are still challenges to overcome as a budding act.

“You Will Surely Have Challenges when you start something but when you get there you will know it is worth the problems and what you faced, so as a young person I know it is hard to make it in the industry because you have to work extra hard.so you just have to show the world you have something that the others have or better and you also have to be different or try to fit in.”

“so you just have to show the world you have something that others(artiste) have or better and you also have to be different or try to fit in.”

With three singles to his credit, Jire is ready to take his career to the next level with the release of his first audiovisual project, titled International Mami. The song was inspired by young love.

” I started talking to a girl I met on Instagram, over time I started to like her and I use to call her international Mami because she is not Nigerian so I decided to write a song about it.”

Making a video was not so easy as Jire experiences first hand how much work goes into creating content as an artiste.

“It was tough, sometimes I did a scene 10 times, you will be tired and exhausted but I had fun,” he said.
