We’ll Miss 'Inspirational' Bolt - Jamaican Athletics

Vice President of the Jamaican athletics team said on Thursday that Usain Bolt will be missed from the team after his upcoming retirement.

Ian Forbes described Bolt as an ‘inspirational’ and a ‘team player’ who creates a ‘good vibe’ in the Jamaican camp.

“Oh yes, you know, he’s inspirational, a team player, gets on very well and it helps to, as we say in Jamaica, create a good vibe. Of course, we’ll miss the antics as well but we have others coming up as well who are, in terms of personality, similar”.

Forbes, however, pointed out that the fastest sprinter of all time plans on staying involved with the sport and will act as a ‘motivator’ for the team once he retires.

“Of course, we’ll miss him but I think he has promised he’ll be around the sport and we’ll have access to him and he’ll be a great motivator for all of us moving forward,” he added.

Bolt, who has eight Olympic golds and 13 world championship medals, is due to retire after August’s world championships in London.

The Jamaican team is training in the United Kingdom’s city of Birmingham ahead of the championships.
