Sony Pictures’ ‘The Dark Tower’ – based on the popular series by author Stephen King – hit the top spot of this weekend’s US box office.
The film, which stars Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey, brought in $19.5 million over the weekend.
Falling from last week’s top spot to second place is Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk” with a draw of $17.6 million.
Despite being critically savaged, “The Emoji Movie” hangs in the top three, with an estimated $12.35 million.
In fourth place, comedy “Girls Trip” finished off the weekend with an estimated $11.4 million.
