The English Premier League opened in style with Arsenal snatching victory from Leicester City in a seven-goal thriller.

New signing Alexandre Lacazette gave the Gunners the lead in the second minute of the game, but Leicester were unfazed with Shinji Okazaki levelling the scores only three minutes later.

A Jamie Vardy strike in the 29th minute left Wenger’s men chasing the game and it looked like Leicester would go into the break in charge. Danny Welbeck had other ideas however and ensured that it was all square at half-time.

Eleven minutes into the second half Vardy restored Leicester City’s lead. But when it looked like the Gunners were going to start the season in defeat an inspired performance from substitutes Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud secured all three points, leaving Craig Shakespeare’s men wondering what could have been.
