As the race for who becomes the next president of Nigeria becomes hotter, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives in the third Republic, Chief Agunwa Anaekwe has joined the civil society groups and other Nigerians to nudge President Goodluck Jonathan to run as the presidential candidate in 2011 election.

At a press briefing in Abuja, the third republic politician said Nigeria should not let issues like ethnicity, tribe and religion to interfere in the leadership of the country, and that President Jonathan has all the requirements to lead Nigeria to a greater level.

Alhaji Jubril Abubakar, member, New Nigeria Initiative was among other Nigerians who were at the press conference also noted that the idea of zoning of the presidency does not support the unity of Nigerians as a nation.
