Sefi Atta, an acclaimed playwright and author, in this edition of Channels Bookclub, talks about her latest book and links her past, present and future with her writing prowess and the divergent reception she gets from her readers across the world.

The former Accountant also disclosed that she did not grow up reading a lot as a child.

This edition also features the first part of the interview with Catholic Bishop; Father Mathew Kukah on his book ‘Witness to Justice’, which documents his experience as as member of the Truth and Reconciliation Committee  (Oputa Panel), set up in 1999 after the emergence of Nigeria’s democracy.

The Clergy decries the lack of Nigerians interest in the nation’s history as he claims no academic institution in the country has approached him to research the panel’s investigation and findings.

He described Nigeria as a “hostile country to intellectual engagement” because he tried to sustain the discussion of the Oputa panel by writing the book but to his surprise, no one is talking about it.

Channels Bookclub also features a  10 year old poet, who reads her poem.
