The Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha has doled out the sum of N200,000 to the driver of the car that rammed into his convoy and caused an accident in which he sustained minor head injuries. The governor claimed the money is a donation to help him (the driver) fix his car.

Okorocha, who resumed his official duties from a two weeks medical treatment in London for the minor head injury, made the announcement while briefing journalists at the government house in Owerri, the Imo state capital.

The governor’s convoy was involved an accident during a project inspection in Orlu local government area of the state.

The governor said he has forgiven the owner of the Benz 200 that rammed into his convoy.

He also donated the sum of N200,000 to the offender to enable him fix his vehicle.

Explaining the reason why he had to seek medical attention abroad, for a minor injury, the governor stated that he embarked on the medical treatment abroad as quickly as possible because of the internal injury he sustained during the course of the accident.

He claimed to have resumed work as his doctors have certified that he can resume work as soon as possible.

Mr Okorocha thanked Nigerians, the media and the people of Imo state for their prayers and support in his absence.
