Kogi State Police Command has killed two armed bandit in a gun duel between the police patrol team and rampaging dare devil four-man gang robbers terrorizing Ankpa town in Ofu Local Government Area of the state.
The state police commissioner, Mr. Hilary Opara who disclosed this at the command headquarters Lokoja stated that his command will not relent in its determination to eliminate criminals activities from the state.
The police had few days ago paraded some robbers who have been terrorizing the people of Ejule in Ofu local government.
Some of the items recovered from the robbers are four AK 47 riffle, one barrette pestle, six live ammunition, nine magazines, six GSM handsets, one national ID card, one green golf car, white Honda civic car and the sum of N46, 000 cash.
While speaking to our correspondent in Lokoja, Mr. Opara stated that the robbers opened fire on his men when they discovered that they were being trailed after robbing a petrol station carting away unspecified amount of money in two separate cars.
He stressed that in retaliation of the battle, which lasted for hours, the two robbers fell to the superior power of the police guns while two other members of the gang escaped with gunshot wounds.
The bullet sign on the police Amoured Personnel Carrier (APC) and the two cars of the robbers shows how the both exchanged fire in the cause of the battle.
In another development the police also paraded one Omotayo Oladipupo who was said to be arrested with a stolen Camry car with registration number Lagos BQ 257 KSF at a stop and search point,
The police boss however called on members of the public to give useful information that would help the police to perform better.
