The Minister of Information tells both foreigners and Nigerians in Abuja that there’s no cause for alarm over the Boko Haram attack warning issued by the US embassy in Nigeria.

The federal government has pledged to support small scale refineries to develop the oil sector.

The Minister of Information and Communication Labaran Maku told a news conference that government’s support will only be available to indigenous refineries who make their technology available to government through legal channels.

He advised Nigerians to desist from hiding under the guise of illegal bunkering to claim lack of support for government for their illegal activities.

Officials of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Subsidy Reinvestment programme, Sure-P, and the Petroleum Development Trust Fund at a news conference to give score cards of their performance in the last two years.

First to make his presentation is the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission.

The Minister of Information attributes the achievements of the government to the doggedness of the administration  of president Goodluck Jonathan to make the revenue of the country count at all times. He urged Nigerians to hold governments at every level accountable to ensure that the effect of the country’s revenue is felt at all levels.

Mister Maku also urged oil thieves to take advantage of government’s polices in the NDDC to stop their illegal activities especially in the oil sector.
