The members of the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party(PDP) in the North West Zone have called on the party’s National Leadership to summon its zonal chairman, Ibrahim Kazaure to explain his support and involvement in the activities of the Abubakar Baraje led  PDP faction, abandoning his constitutional responsibilities of administering the party in the zone.

Addressing a news conference at the party’s zonal secretariat in Kaduna, the Zonal Secretary and Youth Leader, Bashir Gambo and Yakubu Abdullahi described the action of Kazaure as embarrassing and a betrayal of the oath of office he took during his election at the National Convention in Abuja last year. They said that the action was capable of disintegrating the party ahead of the 2015 elections.

The members, who reaffirmed their loyalty and support to the Bamanga Tukur led National Working Committee, also accused the G7 governors and some party leaders of using the new PDP faction to distract President Goodluck Jonathan from delivering good governance to Nigerians.

The members restated that there is only one PDP led by Tukur, and also called on the Party’s National Leadership to suspend the North West zonal chairman from the party “if he fails to retrace his steps from recognizing or participating in the activities of the New PDP faction.”
