The Federal Capital Territory Police Commissioner, Mister Femi Ogunbayode, has assured residents of the nation’s capital of adequate security before, during and after the Yuletide.
Mister Ogunbayode gave the assurance while addressing reporters on the command’s preparedness to ensure a crime-free celebration in the territory.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar had on Sunday directed all A.I.Gs in charge of the 12 zonal commands and commissioners in charge of the 36 states to reorganise their security infrastructure in line with their local environment and peculiar security situation.
Mister Ogunbayode, who did not give details of the security arrangement, however, reiterated that the ban on the use of fireworks during the season is still in force.
He also urged residents to inform the Police of any suspicious movement in their area.
