The Academic staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) has vowed to continue with its nationwide strike until its demands are fully met by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Speaking during a press conference in Minna, the Niger state capital, the chairman of ASUP, Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru chapter, Comrade Kasim Mohammed, decried the Federal Government’s attitude to the demands of the union.
He noted with sadness that despite the constant meetings and the agreement reached with the government, only two of the Union demands had been met while the government had clearly evaded the rest of the agreement
He explained that despite the intervention from many quarters, the Federal Government had remained insensitive to the on-going strike of the polytechnic lecturers.
